Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Specimen Collector, you will play a crucial role in the collection, processing, and handling of laboratory specimens. Your expertise in laboratory procedures, and specimen collection processing will contribute to the accurate and efficient operation of our clinical or research laboratory. Responsibilities: - Collect specimens from patients using various techniques such as venipuncture or catheterization - Ensure proper labeling and documentation of collected specimens - Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis - Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures for specimen collection and handling - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the specimen collection area - Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate specimen collection and timely delivery to the laboratory - Provide basic life support measures if necessary during specimen collection Experience: - Previous experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting preferred - Proficient in laboratory techniques, and physiology knowledge - Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen collection processing - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in specimen handling - Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, clients, and healthcare professionals - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
