MDS Coordinator

The MDS/RAI Coordinator coordinates the completion of the RAI with the facilitys Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). The facilitys Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is overseen by a Registered Nurse (RN) and in accordance with federal regulations. The RAI Coordinator facilitates the completion of Omnibus Reconciliation Act (OBRA) and Prospective Payment System (PPS) assessments and coordinates the process with the RN.
Receive direction from the Nursing Home Administrator on overall QAPI objectives for the organization.
Be knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis methodology and performance improvement methods needed to support and lead performance improvement projects.
Identify opportunities for improvement through analysis of data, observation of operations and consultation with leadership and staff.
Collaborate with the quality committee and senior leaders to prioritize and develop QAPI efforts.
Lead performance improvement projects and provide education and coaching in order to build needed skills in others to lead PIPs.
Participate in multidisciplinary QAPI activities.

Qualifications:
Education:
Education leading to LPN licensure in the State of Kentucky
Experience:
Must have 3 years experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must have 1 year of experience with MDA completion and 1 year of supervisory experience.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge or Skills
Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a long-term care setting. Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Ability to make presentations before top management, public groups and staff. Ability to define problems, collect date, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to work effectively with patients/residents, co-workers and support agencies. Must possess good communication skills in addition to interpersonal relations that will facilitate effective interaction with staff. Must be able to manage the confidential aspects of the facility.
Licensure/Certification
The RAI Coordinator will possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as a nurse in the state of Kentucky.
