Position Overview: The Plant Engineer (Capital Projects) will play a key role in overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and capital budgeting, with a focus on optimizing plant operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and execution of capital projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and finance, to identify project requirements, assess feasibility, and establish project goals and objectives.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate project alternatives and make informed decisions.
• Prepare detailed project plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and financial performance.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services within budgetary and quality standards.
• Monitor construction activities, conduct site inspections, and address technical issues or deviations from design specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols to minimize risks, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to plant personnel, troubleshoot equipment failures, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation, sharing lessons learned, and driving initiatives to optimize plant performance and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of [X years] of experience in engineering, project management, and capital project execution within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in project management software, CAD tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of driving results, fostering teamwork, and building collaborative relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, control systems, and predictive maintenance technologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental, health, and safety compliance.
