General Definition of Work Under the direction of the Recreation Program Supervisor, the PT Youth Gym / Field Supervisor is responsible for our Youth leagues events played at assigned facility. The PT Youth Gym / Field Supervisor will be expected to use their knowledge to supervise recreational activities.
Essential Functions Monitors use of field and gym complexes.
Enforces facility/gym rules implemented by Parks & Rec department.
Handles equipment usage.
Sets up and takes down equipment.
Supervises officials and scorekeepers assigned by Recreation Program Supervisor
Monitors all areas of the facilities for usage, participant behavior and security.
Enforces regulations concerning facility use.
Provides information to patrons.
Performs custodial duties and maintenance.
Responds to emergencies.
Assists the Parks & Recreation staff on other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements Must possess the ability to act in a responsible, friendly, and pleasant manner in fulfilling tasks.
Ability to enforce the department’s facility and safety regulations equitably.
Ability to anticipate problems and take charge of situations to prevent them from becoming unmanageable.
Ability to cooperate and work closely with other staff members and representatives of other organizations.
Display general knowledge of all youth programs and activities overseen by the department.
Ability to maintain open and effective communication and work with a variety of age and skill levels.
Ability to lift 20lbs, occasionally more; extensive standing/sitting.
Special Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Youth recreation experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
