Tread Corporation is a manufacturer of bulk handling equipment focused on servicing the explosives industry on a worldwide basis with Tread equipment operating in all reaches of the globe. Corporate offices and manufacturing facilities are located in Roanoke, Virginia, United States with service capabilities managed from Chile, Australia, and South Africa. Products include bulk trucks, emulsion and mix plants, explosive storage, control systems, as well as aftermarket parts. Seeking experienced candidate for Purchasing Agent position who will assist with the procurement, replenishment and management of inventory. The successful candidate must be highly organized, demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time appropriately, and be a self starter. RESPONSIBILITIES : Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses Coordinating with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries Collaborating with various internal departments with purchase requests Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials Maintain information in the ERP system REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or position in a similar role Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and materials management High degree of accuracy, neatness and attention to detail Good verbal and written communication skills Strong aptitude for software usage including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems Professional and personable demeanor Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Experience: purchasing/procurement: 3 years (Required) sourcing suppliers: 3 years (Required) Ability to Relocate: Roanoke, VA 24019: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
