Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Job Description: Commercial Cleaner Main function The person in this position is responsible for all cleaning in and around the office building Duties and responsibilities 5 Days a week – Monday- Friday − Empty all trash, replace liner if needed and take to the dumpster − Vacuum high traffic areas − Dust mop hard floors − Auto scrub high traffic areas nightly − Damp mop areas that are not scrubbed − Clean all entry door glass − Clean restrooms o Dust mop and damp mop floors with disinfectant o Clean and sanitize sink o Clean mirrors o Polish fixtures (including dispensers) o Clean and sanitize base and bowl of toilets and urinals o Refill toilet paper, soap and towel dispensers − Clean exam rooms o Dust mop and damp mop floors with disinfectant o Empty trash cans, replace liners o Empty biohazard cans, replace liners, place biohazard in proper receptacles o Wipe down countertops o Refill soap, sanitizer and towel dispensers − Clean Kitchen and kitchenette o Clean and disinfect counter tops and fronts o Clean and disinfect sink o Clean outside only of refrigerator and other appliances o Refill soap and towel dispensers − Dust uncovered areas of all main floor furniture, bookcases, filing cabinets etc. − Dust computers and phones − Offices o Disinfect desks that are cleared off o Vacuum carpeting that doesn’t require anything to be moved o Empty all trash, replace liner if needed − Maintaining and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products Once per week − Auto scrub all floors that are accessible and not done on a nightly basis − Dust window treatments (mini blinds or vertical blinds) − Dust tops of credenzas, tops cubicle walls, file cabinets − Spot clean doors and walls Once Per Month − Dust baseboards (wash as needed) − Dust overhead vents − Dust overhead light fixtures (excludes removing light fixture) − Wipe down tops of credenzas, cubical walls, file cabinets etc. with cleaner − Remove cob webs from corners of ceilings and base boards − Wipe down cabinet fronts on all casework and cabinetry Requirements Required − High school diploma or GED certificate Preferred − Previous commercial cleaning experience Job quality requirements − Excellent verbal and written communication skills − Attention to detail − Friendly and Professional − Organization − Little supervision needed to accomplish tasks − Ability to multi-task − Team Player − Self-starter – able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed to do so. − Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and communicate them to the executive assistant. Physical/mental requirements − Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, push and pull objects, lift and move objects (up to 20lbs), repetitive bending and lifting, and repetitive arm movements. − Uniforms must be work during work hours. Working conditions (environmental) − Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting.
