Financial Aid Counselor Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is seeking applications for a full-time Financial Aid Counselor to join our community and support the Financial Aid Office by assisting students and their families with the Financial Aid process. Major Responsibilities Advises prospective, new, and current students and their families throughout the financial aid process. Assists new and continuing students and their families with the financial aid process and the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Reviews incoming information and supporting documentation to determine the accuracy of the information on the FAFSA. Analyzes federal, state, and institution aid information and coordinates with necessary campus partners on data and information to aid in student recruitment and retention while building and adjusting financial aid packages for new and continuing students. Completes assigned duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures. Maintains student confidentiality in accordance with applicable regulations. Qualifications One to three years of experience in financial aid. Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures governing financial aid and financial aid programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software quickly. Experience with PowerFAIDS and CAMS is preferred. Ability to work within tight deadlines in a busy environment. Self-starter requiring little supervision. Able to appropriately maintain sensitive and confidential information.
