The CDS Program Specialist - Intakes * is a full-time position in Mankato, MN with day time hours. This position will allow you to give back to the community while having flexibility, full-time benefits, training, and advancement opportunities!* Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. * Job Summary:* The CDS Program Specialist - Intakes is responsible for understanding and implementing all the processes required for the Client Directed Services (CDS) program. This position will be the first point of contact with client intakes and complete the intake process start to finish. The individual in this position markets MRCI CDS services to county personnel and clients/representatives in private and public forums, assists to maintain a strong customer-focused culture, and remains current with legislative changes and State and Federal rules and regulations that affect the program. * Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Understand all CDS programs and communicate details of these programs to clients, representatives, families and county personnel. Promote systems that ensure appropriate and timely service, and maintain a strong and supportive customer-focused culture. Perform as the first point of contact for all client interaction including: intake, payroll needs, and problem solving. Maintain compliance with program rules and regulations by ensuring complete and timely receipt of enrollment documents and process them into the system. Report to CDS Program Coordinator when problems arise and assist with resolutions based on an understanding of the CDS programs, DHS rules and regulations, and county guidelines for financial management of federal, state and county funds. Remain current with legislative changes, and State and county trends that effect CDS programs; respond as needed by assisting with the development of new practices and procedures. Work with the individual counties, DHS and/or other providers to develop CDS best practices. Input new budgets and service authorization information, process plan revisions, assist in the processing of payroll, vendor payments, reimbursements and all other processes that are part of providing service to the department's customers; track spending and assist with mailings. Assist new employees with completion of employment packets, completing status change forms as needed, contact clients or representatives for required information and documents. Perform other duties as assigned. * Qualifications/Requirements:* High school diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. At least three years related experience in the areas of customer service or direct service to clients. Demonstrate strong writing, reading and interpersonal ability. Demonstrate strong problem solving and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to relate to coworkers in a close environment. Must clear a MN Department of Human Services background check A valid Driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel throughout Minnesota.
