We are currently hiring a Chemical Lab Technician for our Mid-Atlantic printed circuit board facility located in Fredericksburg, VA. We are considering a variety of experience levels. Duties and Responsibilities: * Safely operate equipment consistent with established guidelines ·* Follow area operating procedures and traveler instructions * Perform various chemical and physical analysis based on established methods (ASTM) and accepted industry standards. * Assists with preparing reagents as needed * Comfortable using computer system to obtain information and make accurate transactions * Records data on appropriate data sheets and inputs into chemical analysis software, reviews for accuracy and advises engineering/manufacturing teams of any action required * Responsible for maintaining records and control charts * Responsible for Lab chemical inventory management ·* Keeps work area and equipment clean, including glassware and test equipment ·* Performs operator preventative maintenance and calibrations as trained and assigned *Cross trains in other departments as required ·* Participates in continuous improvement initiatives as applicable * Follows facility safety protocol and company policies Required Skills/Abilities · Strong attention to detail · Consistent performer with outstanding dependability · Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment · Possesses good math and observation skills · Comfortable in a chemical laboratory and wet process manufacturing environment · Experience with lab information management systems and standard chemistry lab processes is preferred but not required · Experience working with various types of laboratory instrumentation is preferred but not required · Able to communicate effectively with different levels of the organization · Ability and interest to learn new tasks and cross train · Works well independently and is also able to effectively communicate and collaborate with other operators, supervisors and process engineers · High school diploma or GED preferred. Prefer successful completion of at least one semester of college level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment · Experience with Microsoft Office software preferred · Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 45 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. · Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
