The Director of Facilities plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of an assigned property in accordance with company policies. Responsible for the overall operation/administration of the properties facilities and maintenance/custodial activities track maintenance in accordance with management directives, policies, and procedures. Supervise and support personnel as assigned reports to the General Manager. SUMMARY The Director of Facilities plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of an assigned property in accordance with company policies. Responsible for the overall operation/administration of the properties facilities and maintenance/custodial activities track maintenance in accordance with management directives, policies, and procedures. Supervise and support personnel as assigned reports to the General Manager. FUNCTION The Director of Facilities plans, directs, and coordinates all activities within the maintenance department in the field of engineering, carpentry, plumbing, EVS, etc., for the Ellis Park Racing and Gaming facility, including HRM clubhouse, restaurants and bars, grandstands, backside barns, dorm rooms, and other outlying buildings. The Director of Facilities reports directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and knowledgeable facilities professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands-on experience. As a property leader, always displays a professional, upbeat, and positive attitude. Actively participates in strategic planning and execution in all facets of the Property operation as a critical member of the senior leadership team. Applicable knowledge of all employees’ specific duties. Coordinates and supervises property maintenance. Coordinates the supervision of the maintenance employees throughout the property. Coordinates and supervises warehouse and receiving processes and personnel. Develops and manages preventative maintenance program and schedule. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures. Ensures adherence to all OSHA safety requirements and HRM safety policies. Advises management of necessary repairs and replacements. Coordinates and delegates maintenance work for all special events. Works closely with Compliance and Risk Manager to ensure safety for all employees and guests. Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work. Appraises performance, addresses complaints, and solves problems. Perform other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field and/or 10+ years of experience in facilities management. Time management and project management skills are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn and teach related platforms and technology. Ability to analyze planning documents, results, and revise for continued improvement. A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and implement accordingly. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Must have a Valid Driver’s License. Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license. #Owensboro
