Responsibilities
Leadership Responsibilities:
1. Oversees proper staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for each area.
2. Ability to order supplies through appropriate information system and works collaboratively with each area to maintain needed supply levels
3. Responsible for daily organization of workflow and work assignments.
4. Works collaboratively with manager to provide pertinent feedback for staff evaluations. Delivers evaluations to employees.
5. Utilizes service recovery techniques when necessary and serves as first contact with customer when the need arises.
6. Arranges for proper maintenance of equipment (routine preventative maintenance) and contacts Clinical Engineering when issues arise.
7. Serves in active role in maintaining ACR accreditation and various JCAHO, FDA, ODH inspections.
8. Conducts monthly staff meetings to assist in communication with staff regarding enterprise information
9. Assists in interviewing, selection, and orientation/training of new staff members
10. Ensures proper staff education requirements and ensures staff compliance regarding licensure and education.
11. Makes budgetary and capital suggestions to manager
12. Actively involved in the discipline process when necessary; particularly verbal and written counseling
Communication/Customer Service Responsibility:
1. Continually demonstrates customer service skills to patients, visitors, employees, physicians, and vendors.
2. Actively works with staff regarding customer service expectations, patient complaints and occurrence reporting.
3. Troubleshoots customer issues to determine causes, suggest actions to be taken and follow-up.
Clinical Responsibility:
1. Follows the appropriate clinical responsibility job description depending on modality of competency.
2. Complies with patient safety responsibility: radiation, MR and general safety as outlined in JDQ of comparable positions for description
3. Complies with Information systems responsibilities as outlined in JDQ of comparable positions for description
General Department Accountability:
1. Maintains knowledge and skills to perform duties and stay current with changes as they occur by attending 75% of all department and technical meetings. Participates in department in-services and reviews memos, emails and bulletins for areas of responsibility.
2. Works to accommodate patients scheduling needs; to best to utilize personnel and equipment while maintaining quality.  Works cooperatively with reception staff in all modalities assisting as needed.   Works cooperatively with reception staff to assist when needed. Is willing to become multi modality trained.
3. Keeps rooms stocked and equipment cleaned according to department standards.  Performs other duties as required or directed.
4. Reports all equipment problems to manager and keeps coworkers informed of status. Properly uses and maintains equipment utilizing safety techniques.  Is proactive in identifying issues and works to get them resolved in a timely manner.
5. Adheres to time and attendance policy and discusses any variation from the schedule with manager.
6. Maintains appropriate credentials (ODH and ARRT) and submits with 30 days of expiration.
7. Demonstrates willingness to assist in departmental changes to improve workflow and learn new functions and duties as needed to keep department viable.
1. Performs other duties within scope of practice as assigned.
Job Description additional task/responsibility:
1. Access to patient records in course of normal operations to conduct the business of medical imaging is a responsibility of all designated personnel.  Access of records is limited only to records that are pertinent to the patients care or regulatory requirements and only occur when necessary to carry out duties as part of the imaging team.
Confidentiality and protection of all records is the responsibility of each individual.  This access may occur for the reasons stated below:
• Pre procedure in preparation for the scheduled exam.
• During the procedures in care of the patient
• Post procedure to follow up on care,
• To QA processes to insure data is correct
• To conduct retrospective reviews for the purpose of education, research or for compliance to ODH, MQSA, ACR, or other regulatory requirements.
• To respond to daily calls from patients, other departments, physicians or Physician’s offices requesting us to access records to review historical procedure record.
Documentation of access must occur where appropriate and feasible in log form, comments in EPIC, HIM or McKesson or other available media/format.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Please describe any specialized knowledge or skills, which are REQUIRED to perform the position duties.  Do not personalize the job description, credentials, or knowledge and skills based on the current associate.  List any special education required for this position.
EDUCATION: Registered technologist for a minimum of 5 years required.  Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Science, management or related field.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:   5 years of healthcare related field.   
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:         Ability to direct, delegate and function appropriately in stressful situations.  Strong communication skills with proven ability to interact positively and constructively with staff, patients and physicians verbally and written.  A good knowledge of Radiation Safety and familiarity with JCAHO and ODH/KDH standards is desired. Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft applications. 
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Technologists must be board certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and Mammography and must be advanced certified in primary area of discipline within 1-2 years of employment depending on primary area of discipline if they do not already possess. They must also hold a valid Ohio license as Radiographer.  CPR certification is required.
