Friendship offers diverse senior living accommodations, award-winning care, new and innovative services as well as specialized rehab and therapy, to over 900 residents and patients. The community opened its first building in 1966 and has grown to offer the full continuum of healthcare, including an adult day care center, home care services, an on-site physician clinic and pharmacy, a transitional care unit and Bistro ‘66, our newest dining venue. Friendship is looking for a Part-Time/PRN Security Guard to join our Friendship Health and Rehab - North team, located on Hershberger Road. The Security Guard will ensure the safety of residents, visitors and staff on a daily basis. They will assist with directing activities associated with emergency situations that may arise on campus.
Must be able to work Thursday-Monday from 11:00 pm to 8:30 am.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Make rounds on property and in buildings; checks doors and lock/ unlock as appropriate
• Respond to all fire alarms- RACE
• Meet the rescue squad at resident apartments in cases of emergency
• Check fire extinguishers monthly
• Alert Police Department as appropriate; communicate to switchboard that Police have been notified of emergency/issue
• Log activities daily and report them to the next guard at shift change
• Check security vehicles regularly and report any maintenance concerns to the Security Manager/ Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance
• Maintain the Cut-off book in the security vehicles to be able to assist with water, electrical, fire alarm shut offs
• Patrol parking lot and issue tickets to cars parked in “No Parking” zones
• Subject to call-back during emergency situations, i.e. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster
Essential Functions:
• Abide by and ensure staff follow all procedures and policies
• Maintain composure during emergency situations; assist residents, staff, visitors with evacuations, fire drills, etc.
• Record and report any issues that arise on shift in the log book and with the Manager
• Be respectful of residents, visitors and staff; provide assistance where necessary
• Must have a valid Driver's License
