• Structural Steel Estimator position - Winston Salem, NC
• Relocation assistance available
Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, the Estimator plays a crucial role in supporting the Sales Department by generating accurate estimates for a wide range of projects, from small, straightforward assignments to large, intricate undertakings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and any pertinent documents related to bids.
• Conducting take-offs of steel materials and providing estimates for shop labor.
• Compiling a comprehensive scope of work, encompassing material costs, shop labor, freight, and commodities.
• Documenting estimates using in-house templates.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferably, a minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in structural steel estimating.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
Key Competencies:
• Communication, Written: Proficient in conveying information clearly and concisely in written form.
• Detail Oriented: Capable of focusing on the minutiae of a project or task.
• Management Skills: Able to organize and direct oneself, while effectively supervising others.
• Organized: Possesses strong organizational skills, following systematic methods in task execution.
• Presentation Skills: Proficient in presenting information publicly.
• Relationship Building: Skilled in building effective relationships with both customers and co-workers.
• Self-Motivated: Internally inspired to perform tasks to the best of one's ability, demonstrating personal drive and initiative.
• Team Building: Able to persuade a group of individuals to collaborate towards a common goal.
• Time Management: Proficient in utilizing available time to organize and complete work within specified deadlines.
Education:
• Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school.
Experience:
• A minimum of five (5) years of estimating experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet usage, and Email communication.
