Full job description
We are hiring a Shipping Clerk in Roanoke, VA! Forklift experience is strongly preferred but not required.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm and Fridays 6am-11am
Pay: $18-$20/hour
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders or invoices
- Inspect packages for damage and report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel
- Unload, unpack, and stock items in the designated storage areas
- Prepare shipments by ensuring that all necessary documentation, labels, and packing materials are included
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or a related field is preferred
- Forklift experience strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment processes
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with team members to achieve department goals
