Roanoke County Public Schools seeks applicants from persons interested in the High School Testing Coordinator position for the 2024-25 school year.
Position Description/Job Summary :
The high school testing coordinator runs many of the standardized testing programs that happen at a high school. They ensure that the school is a model of compliance for federal and state assessment regulations and acts as the testing, data, and accommodations hub for the school. They also track verified credits and pull together resources to help students behind in their verified credits earn them in order to graduate. The position requires a high level of flexibility, the ability to adapt to a changing environment, and the ability to form positive working relationships with Roanoke County staff and students. The candidate also must commit to learning the programs necessary to perform the job, such as PearsonAccessNEXT.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks :
• Implement the Virginia Standards of Learning assessment program in accordance with all applicable state and federal guidelines.
• Keep teachers and other stakeholders up to date with federal and state rules and procedures related to testing and accountability.
• Track juniors and seniors in danger of not graduating due to lack of verified credits or industry certification and develop a plan to help the students earn the necessary verified credits.
• Provide accurate data to stakeholders on SOL and other school wide assessments to help them make informed data-driven decisions.
• Provide instructional coaching to teachers under the direction of the school principal(s).
• Collaborate with administration to plan and facilitate school remediation efforts.
• Compile assessment and school achievement reports as requested by the principal.
• Assist administrators in facilitating meetings to analyze student data and plan for next steps, including tracking the outcomes of and responses to assessments such as division benchmarks.
• Assist administrators in planning professional development for teachers.
• Provide support for users of products used by school personnel under the assessment umbrella (e.g. Mastery Connect, Testnav, PearsonAccessNEXT).
• Plan and/or administer substitute SOL tests and other required assessments.
• Support IEP, 504, and ELL teams on regulations relating to SOL participation and testing accommodations.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal or central office.
Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
A Collegiate Professional License with a teaching endorsement is required.
Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
