About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Internal Fraud Strategy & Governance, Executive Director, who will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Internal Fraud. The position is accountable to effectively provide leadership, strategic guidance, implementation and sustainability rigor for the Enterprise Internal Fraud Program framework.
In this role, you will:
• Lead a team of senior professionals responsible for the multifaceted internal fraud program and be accountable for the program
• Manage a corporate-wide framework designed to aggregate, assess, monitor and report on enterprise internal fraud
• Develop and maintain consistent enterprise and business procedures, desktop, control procedures and metric governance
• Monitor control effectiveness and business group/enterprise issues
• Provide education, awareness and communication support for Internal Fraud programs
• Develop and maintain an Enterprise Internal Fraud Roadmap
• Maintain and assess an enterprise library of internal fraud detection strategy/rules and performance
• Manage an Internal Fraud Detection Strategy Control and Shared Control Request Intake process
• Provide RAU oversight and management of process inventory, control and RCSA accountabilities
• Monitor overall health and effectiveness of enterprise internal fraud programs
• Manage a portfolio of issues owned by Enterprise Internal Fraud, including reviewing processes, providing monthly issue deep dive, managing monthly all team meetings, managing access management, records management, SharePoint and shared drive administration
• Govern Enterprise level Internal Fraud program committees and councils to standards and appropriate escalation paths
• Manage the centralized intake and response to all process/control reviews, requests for information, artifact review and meeting preparation for any/all Regulatory, IRM and Audit engagements
• Manage Program and Policy GAIP process evaluations for all applicable policy and implementation routines including Insider Threat Program
• Engage and influence business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in business group
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
• Serve as the Enterprise Program LOB Liaison
• Role will have material direct interaction/engagement with independent risk management, legal, policy offices, employee relations, audit, regulators and peer groups
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial services organizational structures, functional roles, and corresponding capabilities to assess inherent risks
• Comprehensive background with and understanding of employee misconduct risks (Insider Threat, Internal Fraud, Code of Conduct, etc) to enable strategic approaches and credible challenge
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable policies and programs including Fraud Risk Policy, Insider Threat Program and the Allegation Management Policy, including allegation lifecycle, sensitive matters, intake, internal investigations, root cause and customer impact
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk assessment frameworks, change management frameworks, policy frameworks, issue management frameworks
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
• Strong relationship management skills
• Ability to effectively partner and influence at the senior and executive level
• Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
• Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment
