JOB TITLE: Construction Assistant
LOCATION: New River Valley
REPORTS TO: Foreman
FLSA: Hourly/Nonexempt
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for helping organize and manage project sites.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for helping with all manual labor tasks as needed on a job site
• Produce high quality work
• Perform work safely and keep a clean job site
• Communicate with customers, suppliers and sub-contractors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY:
• Must be in good physical condition with ability to crawl, climb and lift materials and tools as necessary
• Proven ability to lift and carry at least 80 pounds
• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16”
• Good verbal communication
• Must be dependable and timely
• Must be able to act professionally and respectfully on all job sites
• Experience using hand tools
• Must be able to follow directions and work with a sense of urgency to meet project timelines
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proven ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
• 1 year of experience in residential construction required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must have personal hand tools
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
• Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
