Innovative Vision is seeking an Optician to join our practice located in Montgomery, OH. We are looking for an optician who enjoys working with patients of all ages and demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills. At Innovative Vision, we see patients for a range of eyecare needs -- from routine vision screenings and contact lens evaluations to management of cataracts and corneal conditions. The ideal candidate delivers exceptional customer service in collaboration with our dedicated team members. Additionally, this candidate understands the needs of our patients when it comes to recommending eyewear to help them see, look, and feel their best. Optician Responsibilities: Obtaining patient prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. Taking customer information and measurements of the ocular area. Recommending frames or contact lenses that suit the customer's style, face, and specifications. Adjusting and fitting frames according to the prescriptions and customer's specifications, as well as to suit the customer's face. Processing work orders to designated labs and manufacturers Using specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers, and lens gauges. Maintaining knowledge of inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction. Repairing broken frames. Inspecting and verifying finished eyeglasses. Educating customers on how to wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses. Performing administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, patient records, and insurance. Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. On-the-job training and experience. The ability to operate specialized equipment. Excellent customer service and sales ability.
