LAUNDRY ATTENDANT/DAY HOUSEPERSON This is a dual position at the Hampton Inn Owensboro South at 615 Salem Drive, Owensboro, KY. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: LAUNDRY ATTENDANT: · Wash, dry, fold and inspect all hotel linens and towels for cleanliness and tears. · Properly use all soaps, chemicals, and equipment for cleaning linen and towels. · Clean laundry equipment, vent screens, and drain traps and lint filters. · Maintain and rotate a supply of clean linen and towels. · Keep the laundry room and storage areas clean and organized. · Assist with removing linens from rooms when needed or as requested by management. · Accommodate guest special requests courteously. · Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures. · Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys. · Notify manager of any problems with linen. · Answer the housekeeping department telephone. · Complete maintenance work orders and deliver to designated area in a timely manner. · Carry out a reasonable request by management that you are capable of performing. HOUSE ATTENDANT: · Remove all trash that originates from guest rooms placed in hallways. · Remove trash from hallways and ice machine areas. · Clean floors, walls and ice machines · Clean elevators, stairwells and remove trash. · Be able to clean, strip beds and remove trash from guest rooms · Pick up debris and vacuum hallways. · Stock towels at pool and fitness center daily. · Deliver items to guest rooms when requested · End shift by walking assigned areas to remove any large items of trash, etc. from hallways. · Clean spills and marks off hallway walls as needed. · Report any issues or work orders · Able to complete minor maintenance requests · Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude with guests at all times. · Any other area assigned by management. · Must be able to work days and weekends Expectations: · Customer Service – Responds promptly to customer needs, requests for service and assistance. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service-oriented manner. · Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. Periodically restock self-service food and supplies as needed. Wash china, flatware and serving equipment and return it to storage. · Quantity – Meets productivity standards and completes work within a timely manner. · Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses chemicals and equipment properly. Responsible for any assigned keys and for following key control policies. · Dependability – Is consistently at work and on time. Arrives at scheduled meetings and appointments on time. Can meet the demands of the industry regarding working holidays and weekends. · Initiative – Volunteers readily. Asks for and offers help when needed. Clears and cleans tables as they are vacated, wipes up spills, sweeps, mops and vacuums kitchen and dining areas. Removes trash. · Compliance – Comply with health department rules and regulations with respect to handling, preparing and storing food. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prefer some basic knowledge of industrial equipment.
