Job Description: Hotchkiss Law is currently seeking a skilled Family Law Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join our team on a 1099 independent contractor basis. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a comprehensive range of family law cases from inception through resolution, including but not limited to divorce, custody, support, and property division. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent legal acumen, and a deep commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for our clients. Responsibilities: Manage family law cases from start to finish. Conduct thorough legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and represent clients effectively in court. Provide empathetic and expert legal advice during client consultations and meetings. Negotiate settlements and agreements to best serve the client's interests. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in family law and engage in ongoing professional development. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active membership and good standing with the [State] Bar. 3-5 years of dedicated experience in family law practice. Demonstrated litigation skills, with a strong track record in handling family law matters in court. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. High level of independence, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team when necessary. Compensation and Benefits: Competitive compensation with 60% of billables.
