Overview: The Operations Team /Housekeeper is responsible for providing support in the areas of event set up, tear down, facility maintenance, and custodial services at the Owensboro Sportscenter This role will pay an hourly wage of $12.00. About the Venue: Western Kentucky’s award-winning venue – the Owensboro Convention Center – is a full-service facility overlooking the scenic Ohio River in revitalized downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. The multi-purpose center boasts just under 102,000 sq. ft. of available space, including a 44,000+ sq. ft. exhibition hall, the 8,900+ sq. ft. Kentucky Legend® Pier outside over the scenic Ohio River, and additional ballroom, meeting, and pre-function space. The Sportscenter, one of Owensboro’s most historic buildings, opened in 1949. It is a multi-purpose, 5,000-seat arena that hosts concerts, sporting events, graduations, trade shows, meetings, and receptions. Responsibilities: Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective. Set-up and tear down including: basketball floor, risers, chairs, tables, pipe and drape and other items as needed for events at the facility. Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery and skirting Maintains the cleanliness of the venue to Spectra standards by utilizing proper cleaning techniques Operates various equipment including buffers, rider sweepers, scrubbers, blowers, and vacuum cleaners as needed. Providing great customer service to all clients and employees Maintain equipment and ensure orderly and clean storage area Maintain good working relationship with all vendors Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred Must have at least 1 year of experience in a related field Experience in a public facility highly preferred. Reliable transportation and working contact information is required Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work events including days, nights, weekends, and holidays Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills Strengthened by our Differences.
