Full job description
We are seeking an individual who loves to work outdoors; is not afraid of hard, physical labor; and is willing to learn new skills.
The candidate must also be able to be a part of a team, being able to work with others to safely get the job done.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Dragging brush chipping brush
• Utilizing a chainsaw to cut wood and brush
• Loading heavy wood onto trucks and trailers
• Assisting in rigging branches and large wood from trees
• Utilizing other equipment, such as a rubber track machine, to facilitate the job's efficient completion
• Cleaning up the site at the end of the job (i.e., raking and removing debris generated from the job)
Previous experience in tree service, logging, landscaping, or a similar field is required . Experience in properly using a chainsaw is also required.
No minimum education requirement.
Other qualifications that are preferred , but not required, include:
• Ability to drive (and have extensive experience with) a manual transmission, including larger trucks (i.e., bucket trucks)
• A CDL
• Experience with rigging
• Previous tree climbing experience
A valid driver's license is required, as well as reliable transportation.
A clear drug screening is also required prior to employment; ongoing drug screenings will also be required throughout time of employment, at random intervals. (The cost of the drug screening will be covered.)
You must agree to abide by the following company policies:

The above policies will be discussed in more detail upon start of employment.
Work schedule varies based upon job location, weather, and time of year. Typically, a work day totals 6-8 hours. Start time is always in the morning, but may have to be adjusted based on weather or the customer's needs.
We work all across the Roanoke Valley. The farthest any job tends to be outside of Roanoke is at Smith Mountain Lake. However, the majority of the jobs remain here in the valley.
