About being a Registered Behavior Technician at Easterseals Redwood:
This position provides direct behavioral support programming for adults and children, under the guidance of a BCBA. Directs positive behavioral support programing for adults and children through functional assessment of behaviors and creation and implementation of behavior support plans.
• Learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) how to provide therapy to children and families in need of support.
• Review behavior plans and other relevant (e.g., instructional) materials developed by BCBAs for patients to facilitate consistent implementation and monitor outcomes appropriately.
• Complete daily progress notes related to the implementation of the intervention plan.
• Records behavior and skill acquisition data to support assessment of intervention effectiveness and progress towards goals.
• Participates as a member of a treatment team in planning individualized approaches for each child and familiarizes self with the client's case record.
• Provides systematic application of techniques and methods to influence or change a client’s behavior in a socially significant and desired way;
• Assists the recipient to learn new behaviors that are related to existing challenging behaviors or functionally equivalent replacement behaviors for identified challenging behaviors
• Under the supervision of a BCBA, it coordinates, guides, and directs implementation of behavior support plans with the staff, parents, and primary caregivers.
• Records and maintains appropriate information and data. Prepares reports and appropriate documentation as required.
• Collects data during each session and graphs the data daily (e.g., ABC data, intervention monitoring data
• Assists with the development of Behavior support plans, Individual Support Plans, and Crisis Plans upon request.
• Maintains a clean, orderly environment, throughout the day, including compliance with all safety and health regulations.
• Maintains positive relationships with individuals, staff, parents, outside agencies and the community.
• Receptive and open to feedback provided on behavioral skills
• Communicates with families/guardians prior to and following sessions and as needed during treatment
• Adheres to the RBT ethical code of conduct
• Performs crisis intervention as necessary
Competencies:
• Computer Skills – Possesses a working knowledge of Microsoft office skills, internet software and database programs. Able to accurately enter data into a database, search for information, send and receive emails.
• Teamwork, including balancing team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity and openness to others' views, giving, and welcoming feedback, contributing to building a positive team spirit, and supporting everyone's efforts to succeed.

What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Registered Behavior Technician:
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or national equivalent
• Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
