$2,000.00 Sign on Bonus
The Assistant Director of TGH is responsible for promoting and monitoring the growth and development of existing and newly created services within TGH. The Assistant Director works alongside the Director of TGH to implement and monitor daily operations of the TGH program. This includes conducting training for new TGH team members and additional and advanced training as identified necessary for individual team members or program locations. This role collaborates with the clinical and compliance departments to ensure the training provided is of excellent quality and documented in a timely manner. The Assistant Director assists with the admissions process, tracking, and retention of cottage admissions. This includes the identification of potential TGH youths, admissions, information dissemination to TGH team members, information maintenance, and other supportive activities deemed necessary by the Director of TGH. The Assistant Director actively models, teaches, and demonstrates commitment to TGH’s trauma informed care approach, advocacy for the human rights for the individuals supported, accountability to individuals supported, the TGH and HopeTree team, external partners, and our community stakeholders. TGH Assistant Director must be able to practice and model in a confident and independent manner, while ensuring compliance with state and agency operational policies.
Position Responsibilities & Work Schedule
This position is based in a HopeTree office setting in Salem, VA. The typical work schedule is flexible weekday schedule to include flexible weekend management of cottages as well as rotating scheduled 24-hour on-call responsibilities. There will be occasions when the Assistant Director is required to work during evenings, overnight, weekend, or holiday hours. There may be occasions when travel is required on an unplanned basis. Flexibility may be granted to the regular schedule when communicated in advance with the Director of TGH or Chief Clinical Officer.
Duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:
• Works in partnership with the compliance department to ensure all TGH team members receive required initial and ongoing training. Cofacilitates TGH Orientation on a bi-weekly basis, documenting all participants of the course in a timely manner within the online learning management system.
• Conducts additional and advanced training and supervision for team members as identified in response to an evaluation, observation, serious incident, or new admission. Collaborates with Coordinator of Medical Support Services to ensure any medical training needed is delivered effectively and efficiently.
• Coordinates regular meetings with TGH Youth Care Workers (YCW) to ensure training is delivered consistently and according to requirements. Routinely audits annual training plan compliance for TGH department.
• Completes staff evaluations as required in a timely manner. Staff evaluations are to include staff development and training plans.
• Provide oversight to ensure the medical, physical, emotional, and mental health needs are met within the TGH program.
• May provide individual and/or group psychotherapy sessions with TGH residents as needed.
• Collaborates with Director of TGH to assist develop and prepare annual budgets for TGH service programs. Works closely with the Advancement Team to solicit financial support, program awareness in the community, and TGH involvement in HTFS events. Works closely with Marketing and Development team to cultivate referral relationships.
• Assists Director of TGH and works closely with Compliance Department to ensure systems are operating according to regulatory requirements. Works alongside Director of TGH to actively monitor QA/KPI data for trends.
• Continually seeks skill improvement and training materials relevant to job duties to include trauma informed care and mental health concerns of at-risk youth.
• Participates in on-call rotation for responding to serious incidents and reporting to CHRIS. Assists Director of TGH and Compliance Department in conducting investigations as needed.
• Actively participates in TGH L10 and all TGH leadership meetings and serves as a model for all TGH team members in areas of person-centered supports, least restrictive services, community integrated philosophies and supports, advocacy for human rights, and HTFS core values.
• Has working knowledge of and assists Director of TGH in monitoring compliance with all DBHDS and HTFS regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
• Master’s Degree in Human Services field from an accredited college or university;
• LMHP/LMHP Type is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two year of experience work at-risk children, one year must be within a children’s residential facility.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with leadership systems, policies and procedures, planning, budgeting, and team management.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals supported, family members, regulatory agencies, and community partners.
• Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
• Ability to represent the agency in the community in a positive manner.
