Job Duties
Catawba Hospital, a 116-bed Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric facility located near Roanoke, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge mountains, is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to oversee day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department.
The Director of Environmental Services provides the overall management of the Environmental Services Department to ensure Housekeeping standards are in compliance with Joint Commission guidelines, OSHA guidelines, internal policies and procedures, and are maintained throughout the facility. Oversees the combined functions of contractual activity (Laundry, Pest, Waste Management, & Infectious Disposal) to ensure operations are within budgetary and legal constraints.)
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in use of computer applications (word processing, database, etc.) and other office equipment. Ability to supervise and direct personnel. Knowledge and application of cleaning methods and chemicals; ability to write correspondence which reflect knowledge of spelling, grammar and composition, communication skills; manage multiple tasks.
Additional Considerations
International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) Certificate, NEHA Certificate, HEM by ECRI/CHEM or other discipline specific credentials.
Extensive working knowledge of current CDC recommended cleaning methods/chemistry.
Experience in use of computer systems, software, and analytical tools such as Microsoft Office.
