Full job description
We are hiring an experienced Dental Assistant to assistant one of the two dentists at our small private practice. Must have dental radiation certification and CPR/First-Aid certification (or able to obtain it quickly). More than one year of experience is preferred.
The hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm with an hour lunch from 1-2, Fridays 8am-1pm with the last Friday of the month off during winter months. During Fridays in the summer, we are off every other Friday.
We offer a monthly uniform allowance, but will purchase a full week of scrubs for you initially. We offer Health Insurance (we pay a portion), dental care, 401k, paid vacation, paid sick leave, bonuses, birthday pay and lunch, and office holiday parties. Pay is negotiable based on experience, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment properly.
- Take various dental x-rays. Must have Dental Radiation Certification. **
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Assist with dental lab tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models, preparing and maintaining various patient cases, helping maintain cleanliness of lab, etc.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
Skills:
- Willingness to learn and help where is needed, in addition to assisting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient records and flow of appointments.
- Attention to detail for accurate patient chart documentation and instrument sterilization.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients.
