Purpose CAT offers help and hope for a different life by providing accessible care and tools for lifelong sobriety and recovery to patients struggling with addiction to alcohol, drugs, or gambling. CAT does this with the goal of saving lives and rebuilding families. 1st shift 7am-3:30pm days - Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Bi-weekly pay Job title: Patient Care Tech PRN Reports to: PCT Supervisor Job Purpose Provides a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, through consistent assessment of residential areas, and appropriate reporting of unfavorable incidents. Assist nurses with daily residential requirements. Carry out the directives of the Patient Care Tech Supervisor during non-business hours. Duties and responsibilities Patient Care Promote safety above all care Monitor and facilitate patient activities and adherence to rules and regulations of the agency, by conducting regular resident rounds. Perform random Urine Drug Screens, Pregnancy Tests and Breathalyzers. Perform duties to ensure a successful discharge under the coordination of the medical/clinical team. Provide random and or routine resident searches according to procedure Administration Complete admission procedures/documents as assigned. Complete unity filing and telephone back-up as other duties allow. Demonstrates responsibility/caution when using access points to residential and administrative areas. Housekeeping Assist with washing reusable unit linen and clothing of Withdrawal Management. Maintain cleanliness of Withdrawal Management areas thoroughly, and total unit in general, by completing spot cleaning during the day shifts and thorough cleaning on night shifts. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in residential or health care setting providing patient monitoring preferred. Experience providing customer service to the public a must. Competencies Reporting- Reports unusual incidents through variance reporting to agency management. Infection Control- Maintains infection control standards by practicing universal precautions. HIPAA- Knowledge and ability to apply HIPAA laws and Federal Regulations Patient Rights- Adheres to all patient rights standards. Professional- Exhibits professional behaviors such as maintaining the CAT Code of Ethics, working cooperatively with others following CAT personnel polices etc. Communication- Communicates well, delivers presentations, has good listening skills. Conflict Management- Good listener, committed to finding solutions to problems, works well with difficult people. Customer Service- Works well with customers, promotes a positive image of the company, strives to solve issues raised by customers. Ethics- Honest, accountable, maintain confidentiality. Initiative- Acts, seeks new opportunities, strives to see projects to completion. Problem Solving- Strives to understand contributing factors, works to resolve complex situations. Product Expertise- Knowledgeable about CAT programs, services, history, and impact in the community. Ability to work well with individuals of diverse ages, cultures, races, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds, disabilities, gender and sexual orientation. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time or may need to move about for extended periods of time. Position may require employee to have full range of motion and lift up to 30 lbs. Position may require individuals to communicate, converse and exchange information with others. May require individual to communication via email, phone or in person.
