Position: Craft Adventure Guide (Tap Room & Kitchen Server) Supervisor: Tap Room & Kitchen Assistant General Manager Division: Hospitality Division – Outpost Facility FLSA Status (Classification): Hourly The Craft Adventure Guide (CAG) is an energetic, customer-centered, positive position that works directly with patrons and visitors in our Tap Room & Kitchen. The CAG works a variety of hours/shifts (with emphasis on weekends, days, nights, and holidays), and focuses on ensuring a great experience for all visitors through serving great beer, canned cocktails, and food, selling merchandise and to-go packages, and providing extensive knowledge of our products, brand, and information about our brewery and the brewing process. The CAG has great energy and the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the brewing process, the equipment that DBBC possesses to make its beer, our brands of beer, and the beer industry as a whole. The CAG is vital to DBBC’s ability to provide every visitor the opportunity to craft their own adventure. Once trained, this position works somewhat autonomously, and is expected to identify needs as they arise throughout the shift. Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities Bartending (only beer & canned cocktails) and serving food, beverages, and experiences. Maintaining high levels of customer service. Ensuring that all of the customer service functions (tours/opportunities to share brewing knowledge, bartending, merchandise/to-go beer sales, food sales, etc.) are coordinated throughout each day. Provides tours of the brewery and Outpost facility when necessary. Works in and contributes to a fun working environment with a positive attitude. Cleans the taproom and keeps it sanitary. Stocks beer and merchandise, as well as all products for service. Ensures adequate kegs, moves kegs, and taps kegs. Clean draft lines. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of company products & the brewing process (beer, food, and merchandise). Excellent personal communication skills with colleagues & guests. Self-motivator. Lover of beer & canned cocktails, OR lover of learning about the products! The ability deal with difficult customers professionally when necessary. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers. Basic to Intermediate level proficiency in office-related software. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Education and Experience One year prior customer service experience (preferably in food/beverage, or brewery/tap room setting) preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Certified Beer Server, ServSafe , and TIPS certifications (equivalent or more) preferred, but not required. Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts Regular contacts are made with the general public. Some communication may be difficult requiring significant levels of tact. Ability to lift 35 pounds. Ability to manipulate 165-lb. kegs with/without dolly. Ability to transport 165 lb. on a dolly (dolly operation). Communication is usually cooperative in nature, with infrequent conflicts resolved by higher authority. Conducts work in a standing position; however, job requires walking, bending, stooping and lifting. Requires frequent operation of tap handles, dishwashers, and movement throughout brewery. Requires the ability to speak loudly to large groups of people. Requires flexibility in hours.
