Drawer Boxes Job Description Job Summary: As a Drawer Box Builder, your primary responsibility will be to construct, and assemble high-quality drawer boxes used in various cabinetry projects according to specifications and design requirements. Your attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship will be crucial to ensure the production of visually appealing and structurally sound drawer boxes. Duties/Responsibilities: Measurement and Cutting: Responsible for safely operating woodworking equipment to manufacture drawer box components accurately, following precise measurements and specifications. Assembly: Assemble drawer boxes by joining sides, front and back pieces using appropriate techniques such as nailing and gluing, ensuring the structural integrity and stability. Finishing: Sand the surfaces of the drawer box to achieve a smooth finish. Apply Oil to enhance the appearance and protect the wood. Quality Control: Inspect finished drawer boxes for any defects or imperfections to ensure they meet quality standards, checking for accuracy, fit, and overall quality standards. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure safe working environment for yourself and colleagues and operate machinery safely. Wearing appropriate PPE is required. Equipment Maintenance: Preform daily cleaning of machines to ensure their proper functioning and longevity. Documentation: Maintain accurate records to facilitate tracking and reporting. Communication: Collaborates with Team Lead to discuss concerns or issues that arise. 5S: Practice the ā€œ5Sā€ framework within the team and all projects. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the industry trends, new materials and techniques related to drawer box construction to enhance your skills and contribute to process improvements. Required Skills/Abilities: Experience: Proven experience as a Drawer Box Builder or similar role, with a solid understanding of drawer box construction techniques and materials. Knowledge: Proficiency in using measurement instruments. Familiarity with various frame wood species. (Can be trained) Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and accuracy, ensuring the drawer boxes meet design specifications and quality standards. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift drawer box material, and working in various environmental conditions. (Plant is not climate controlled.) Teamwork: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with Team lead and other team members. Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and daily goals. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve issues that may arise during the construction process.
