We are seeking a passionate and skilled Grant Writer and Communications Specialist to join our Resource Development Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in raising funds and awareness about our organization and supporting our communications efforts. Your responsibilities will include: Social Media Strategy: Developing and implementing effective social media strategies to share our organization’s key messages and engage target audiences. Content Creation: Supporting the public relations and communications team by drafting, proofreading, editing, and formatting content for various channels, including email campaigns, social media posts, newsletters, and press releases related to fundraising events and marketing campaigns. Promotional Materials: Brainstorming and developing print and electronic promotional materials to encourage donor engagement, improve fundraising efforts, and inspire individuals to join our volunteer programs. Data Analysis: Measuring the effectiveness of implemented communications efforts by analyzing data related to website traffic, social media metrics, and email campaign analytics. You will also be responsible for writing and presenting reports based on this data. Media Relations: Building and maintaining a contact database of journalists, press, media outlets, and potential sponsors. Research and Understanding: Study and comprehend the organization’s history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs. Research grant opportunities from both government and non-government agencies. Proposal Development: Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the specific funding requirements of the organization. Ensure that proposals align with the designated categories and address critical needs. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments for grant requirements. Respond to internal and external queries related to drafted and submitted proposals. Relationship Building: Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with team members and external partners. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records related to grant opportunities. Submit timely reports as required by grant agreements. Requirements To excel in this role, you should have: Experience: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit communications, grant research and writing Skills: Proficient with Digital Marketing, Creating Content and WordPress. Provable track record in successful grant research and writing Excellent Research Skills: Ability to explore and identify suitable funding sources. Strong Communication Skills: Clear and persuasive writing abilities, especially in grant proposals. Attention to Detail: Precision in adhering to grant guidelines and deadlines. Collaboration: Ability to work well with others and build relationships. Passion for the Cause: Understanding the organization’s mission and advocating for it.
