Supervisor – Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant
Covington, VA
The City of Covington is advertising for applications for the Position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor.
As a working supervisor/operator, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation, plant maintenance, laboratory, property, and other functions of the Wastewater treatment department while reporting to the Director of Public Works.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required and five to seven years of related experience in a wastewater treatment facility is preferred. Supervisory experience and possession of a valid Class 1 Wastewater Works Operator License from the State of Virginia is preferable, yet a Class 2 License will be considered if the applicant acquires a Class 1 License within an established time-period. Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license will be required.
The salary range for a Class 1 Supervisor/Operator is $60,550-$85,080 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience. The City offers a generous benefits package including health insurance, life insurance, VRS retirement, paid leave, and holidays.
