The CARE program offers an array of opportunities for individuals to become fully involved and connected with their communities as well as building personal relationships with others.
In our CARE Program, the Personal Care Assistant will be responsible for providing program participants with toileting, personal hygiene care, ambulatory, and meal preparation assistance. This individual will possess the ability to work cooperatively with a partner to deliver services in a safe, respectful and compassionate manner. The ability to interact using calm/positive verbal & non-verbal communications skills are essential to establishing respectful and trustworthy relationships with the individuals served.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
1)One- year experience working with individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities preferred;
2)One- year field related experience required;
3) Must be able to pass criminal background check and various registry checks.
KNOWLEDGE: Must possess strong judgment skills to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of adults with disabilities.  Must be able to effectively communicate with participants, nurse, and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Provide physical and general assistance as needed for toileting which may include utilization of lift for transferring & positioning
• Communicate regularly with facility nurse regarding any observed signs or symptoms of a medical nature
• Monitor & communicate supply needs in a timely manner.
• Complete delay documentation of services delivered
• Assist non-ambulatory participants throughout program
• Provide general assistance with feedings, snacks and lunch time preparations
• Light cleaning of Changing Room to ensure sanitary conditions such as wiping toilet seat between each participant, sweeping and

WORKING CONDITIONS: • Must be able to physically navigate way around changing room and program floor
• Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to physically demonstrate work activities which would require frequent bending stooping reaching pulling and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a variety of community settings indoor and outdoor in all climates.
• Must always possess critical judgment to ensure health and safety of individuals served.
This is a Part-Time position. Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm (M-F).
We offer competitive pay: Pay Rate: $17.00/ Hr.
