Job Summary
This position performs engineering work related to research, designing, and development of new products and interfacing of the Electrical Power systems related to Gensets and Microgrids.
Job Functions (Essential)
• Design and development of Generator set and Grid control systems, wiring harnesses, electrical diagrams, electronic engine systems, automatic voltage regulators, transformers, heaters, motor controls, and protective devices, paralleling switchgear, low and medium voltage switchgear, and any other electrical aspects of products.
• Develop power conversion applications for grids incl. algorithms & software solutions.
• Define technical requirement for selection of power electronic manufacturer and steering the manufacturers during course of the projects & applications.
• Develop the systems Sizing and selection of power electronics components (including auxiliary circuits, filter, transformers, etc.)
• Performs studies on transient stability, load flow analysis, reactive planning, infrastructure re ‐ enforcement and generator Interconnections.
• Performs studies on renewable resources, distributed energy resources, battery energy storage, relay & protection device coordination and smart grid related applications using relevant industry standard software.
• Performs Electrical simulations for special customer projects as required.
• Experience in electrical design of Battery and Fuel Cell containers is desirable.
• Assist the team to assemble the prototype when required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of electrical engineering experience; or 7 years of electrical engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of Diesel and Gas engines
• Strong analytical ability when problems are complex
• Self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong ability to work effectively with others
• Strong ability to read and interpret line diagrams, ladder diagrams, and point to point diagrams
• Strong ability to read and understand customer specs
• Good presentation skills
• Computer Skills: AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD electrical, Programming, MS Office (Programmable Logic Devices)
• Electrical Software Design skills: AutoCAD electrical, CREO Schematics, E-PLAN, E3 , Programming of Control Logic Devices
• Demonstrated industry experience in grid-tied AC-DC power converters and DC-DC power converters.
• Power systems analysis software skills: HOMER, Digsilent Powerfactory.
