Administrative:
ƒ Front desk reception
ƒ Answers phones and schedules appointments
ƒ Greets patients, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions
ƒ Files and maintains medical and financial records
ƒ Prepares and types correspondence
ƒ Processes, codes, and completes insurance claim forms
ƒ Processes mail
ƒ Purchases and maintains supplies and equipment
ƒ Performs computer skills in patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, accounts receivable, and data base entry
ƒ Performs accounting, billing, and banking procedures
ƒ Arranges for hospital admissions and outside referrals
ƒ Calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy
ƒ Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology
ƒ Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
ƒ Performs other position-related duties as assigned Clinical:
ƒ Measures and records vital signs
ƒ Records patient interview, history, and chief complaint
ƒ Provides patient education with regards to medications, management of diseased, home treatments and special diets
ƒ Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests ƒ Assists physician with exams
ƒ Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
ƒ Performs basic lab tests
ƒ Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization
ƒ Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures ƒ Uses CPR skills when necessary
Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments
ƒ Practices OSHA safety standards
ƒ Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
ƒ Performs other position-related duties as assigned
High school graduate preferred
ƒ One (1) year Medical Assistant experience in corresponding setting is preferred ƒ Clear background check and drug screen
ƒ Eighteen (18) years or older
ƒ Federal-, State- and GHR-required credentials current and on file'
ƒ Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position
ƒ Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
