We're expanding! Swedish Match North America LLC, develops, manufactures, and sells quality products with market leading brands such as ZYN nicotine pouches and other smokeless tobacco products. We are one of the fastest growing consumer-packaged goods (CPG) producers and ZYN is the number one selling nicotine pouch in the US. In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent ZYN Manufacturing (2nd shift) for the Owensboro, KY manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities include:
• Analyze and make recommendations for the most efficient use of materials, labor and equipment.
• Analyze and interpret production requirements as a basis for establishing production plans which optimize the utilization of equipment, labor and material.
• Coordinate all production for the effective utilization of personnel working within area of responsibility.
• Manufacture assigned products in compliance with quality standards and product specifications. Ensures product integrity and quality in all areas.
• Coordinate with Manager of Quality Assurance and Superintendent regarding quality control testing in areas of responsibility, monitors results.
• Evaluates and recommends new machinery for use in current production and new production processing when appropriate.
• Maintain records to document a history of product quality relating to process and equipment changes.
• Works with Superintendent to establish demanding, yet realistic goals and objectives for improvement in all phases of manufacturing including safety, labor efficiencies, material losses, and product quality.
• Establish good employee relations, maintaining a work environment within Company policies and rules that provides a base for high levels of performance, safety and morale.
• Responsible for labor relations within all assigned departments including Step #1 in the grievance procedure. Maintain current and accurate understanding of contractual obligations with the Union and conduct manufacturing operations with proper regard for Union relations and their impact on business.
Requirements
Education: College degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Two or more years management experience required. Proven track record of business success and continuous improvement leadership experience strongly preferred. Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
Skill/Knowledge: High degree of initiative. Must be self-directed and have the ability to develop and maintain rapport with subordinates, peers and superiors. Strong analytical and decision-making ability. Strong computer, oral and written communication, and problem solving skills are essential. Experience in ZYN powder processing and/or fluid bed processing a plus.
Other: Ability to function effectively under constant pressure and provide required information to management. Must know skills and capabilities of subordinates. 2nd shift, 2:00pm - 10:30pm.
