POSITION SUMMARY:
The Roanoke Area Manager is responsible for building relationships in the Roanoke area with the long-term goal of expanding HumanKind’s financial support services into that area. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities and establishing relationships to build on those opportunities. The Roanoke Area Manager is also responsible for the ERC Roanoke employees including schedules, tasks, and objectives. In addition, this position will provide leadership and administration of the Ways to Work (WTW) program in Roanoke. WTW assists individuals in moving towards greater levels of self-sufficiency by providing access to financial education and reliable transportation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate in the new hire and training processes for new ERC Roanoke employees.
• Supervise and manage the day-to-day workload requirements for all ERC Roanoke employees. Provide supervision through 1:1’s, coaching and evaluations to ERC Roanoke employees.
• Conduct interviews, verifications, and processing of applicants as well as client follow-up as needed.
• Support approved clients with finding vehicles, purchase of insurance, and DMV paperwork.
• Assist with registering participants in database and update as needed.
• Review weekly Past Due Report and contact clients accordingly.
• Maintain communications and collaboration with Richmond and Lynchburg Office.
• Develop and facilitate various in-person and virtual workshops designed to help adults develop financial literacy.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with car dealerships, repair shops, auto insurance companies, and other resources to assist applicants and borrowers. in order to provide the most effective services possible.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies or other community stakeholders working to meet community needs.
• Facilitate and implement efficient strategies to help in identifying areas of need in Roanoke area that align with HumanKind’s program services.
• Seek out opportunities for HumanKind to expand services to the Roanoke area by attending community events as appropriate/needed to meet ever-evolving program needs.
• Support the development and dissemination of promotional materials.
• Preparation and assistance with fundraising and/or marketing presentations to promote program.
• Provide referrals to community resources, HumanKind programs, and partners when appropriate for clients on an as-needed basis.
• Coordinate and document Barrier Removal Requests to support customers in need of additional support services.
• Maintain working knowledge of HumanKind Lending Loan system.
• Provide requested reports to as requested to the Finance and Grant Writing Departments.
• Follow all established policies and procedures related to program services and case file management.
• All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with standard office and clerical procedures, current office technology and computer program/applications including Microsoft Suite, Excel, Power-Point, and TEAMS.
• Effectively communicate written and verbally to a diverse audience, including supervisors.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment with a diverse group of coworkers, program staff and clientele.
• Ability to accurately complete application and forms, follow directions, interpret a variety of instructions and present information in one-on-one and group situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution preferred.
• Previous work experience in human services or social services, with 2-3 years’ experience in Workforce Development.
• Previous work experience with Low to Moderate Income Individuals, and/or the ability to provide services in a culturally sensitive manner.
• 2-3 years management and leadership experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Complete, pass and maintain all required background checks and drug test.
