Supervisor – Municipal Water Treatment Plant
Covington, VA
The City of Covington is advertising for applications for the Position of Water Treatment Plant Supervisor.
As a working supervisor/operator, the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation, plant maintenance, laboratory, property, and other functions of the water treatment department while reporting to the Director of Public Works.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required and five to seven years of related experience in a water treatment facility is preferred. Supervisory experience and possession of a valid Class 1 Waterworks Operator License from the State of Virginia is preferable, yet a Class 2 License will be considered, if the applicant acquires a Class 1 License within an established time-period. Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license will be required.
The salary range for a Class 1 Supervisor/Operator is $60,550-$85,080 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience. The City offers a generous benefits package including health insurance, life insurance, VRS retirement, paid leave, and holidays.
