Responsible for the implementation of the YMCA fitness workshops provided in the Roanoke City Public School 21 st Century CLC program, providing  physical and nutritional education within school program sites.Â

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Administer pre and post tests for YMCA 21 st CCLC fitness workshops using Fab Five curriculum, tracking student progress throughout program, and adjusting as needed.
• Properly administer lesson plans and activities developed for the 21st Century CLC program,Â
• Properly represent the YMCA in its relationship with Roanoke City Public Schools in the implementation of fitness programs, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service to the Roanoke City Public School’s staff and students.
• Maintain accurate records of programming data, sign in sheets and student performance records.
• Ensure proper storage and maintenance of YMCA and Roanoke City Public School’s supplies and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
• Ability to observe participant activities in order to enforce safety regulations and policies and procedures.
• Ability to interact in-group activities.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to supervise adults and children.Â

QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 years’ experience in a wellness instructor position preferred.Â
• 2 years’ experience working with children in a group setting preferred.Â
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of children and staff. Â
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Love working with children.
• Be a positive role model.
