Job Role: Product/Process/Materials Co-Op
Location: Various locations throughout United States (relocation assistance may be provided)
Role Terms: Summer/Fall (Full-Time May - December 2024) or Fall (Full-Time August - December 2024) in either instance, this is a cooperative education program so you would be required to take off from school during the duration of the co-op term.
Additional Information: Must have permanent right to work in the United States both now and in the future.
Job Overview
Process, product, and material engineering Co-Ops have the opportunity to apply scientific and engineering practices to product, medical devices, process, and material design and development. Experimentation could be conducted in a laboratory, manufacturing, or product use environment. Candidates may work with advanced technologies in polymers, surfactants, absorbency, fibers, nonwoven materials, and other fields for design and manufacture of consumer and business to business health and hygiene products are leveraged to create new benefits, to solve current problems, and/or to maintain existing products. Considerable interaction with representatives of engineering and manufacturing is required in meeting project objectives.
Job Accountabilities
Carry out assigned projects as part of a team. Demonstrate the ability to fully develop the skills and traits required for continued growth as a scientist. Conduct all communications and transactions with utmost integrity and honesty. Document knowledge and report research and development work as required. Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected. Strong oral and written communication skills are imperative. Understanding of basic statistics and computer usage experience is desirable.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Problem identification, problem solving methodology
• Design of experiment development and trial execution
• Statistical analysis
• Use of statistical tools
• Assimilate and understand technical information
• Product attributes/quality and testing
• R&E systems: machine, electrical, process
• Trial planning and implementation
• Corporation policies and procedures
• Quality standards and procedures
• Heat transfer/thermodynamics
• Material and energy balances
• Process control
• Computer analysis/simulation
• Material science
• Prototyping
• Understanding and developing specifications
• Role of other K-C functions/interactions
Qualifications
• GPA: 3.0 cumulative or higher
• Completion of 1-1/2 years of college courses
• Applicants must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. on a regular, full-time basis
• Co-op/intern positions are not eligible for sponsorship and the successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the United States without KC’s sponsorship now or in the future
• Previous Co-op/Intern experience is a plus
