Job Description Supervise the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. Hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct associates, or adjust an associates concerns/complaints. Under the direction of the Director, provide input on how to a perform task and how to achieve the goals. Delegate and check daily assignments. Prioritize and delegate tasks and projects within the department. Schedule appropriate coverage when necessary. daily scheduling, activities, training and scheduling of Supervisors and Transporters on all shifts; ensuring that the proper personnel have been properly trained, supervised and scheduled for the efficient operation of the transport department Responsible for the upkeep and training of computer systems for transport. Responsible for initial orientation, create and supervise work schedules, vacation schedules, time off and overtime, training qualifications and meetings. Responsible for the timely completion of all performance appraisals, documentation and correction of any HR problems with the assistance of HR, Transport Manager and the approval of the Patient Logistics Director. Ensures all personnel are kept appraised of their job performance, given proper guidance and documentation is given in a timely manner and kept on all personnel. Recommends and implements any changes to the Patient Transport system, new programs and established practices. Meets with using departments to establish service levels; ensuring all systems controlled by Patient Transport are current with practice standards. Coordinates and schedules in-services; ensuring current good hospital practices are observed at all times. Handles conflicts and questions from nursing and medical staff as level of knowledge permits. Conducts meeting with requesting departments and communicates with supervisors, ensuring ongoing timely and effective communication with all concerned. Adheres to policies established by JACHO, Infection Control, State and Local agencies; ensuring all regulations are enforced and a quality service is being rendered. All associates shall follow the applicable safety steps required to perform their duties to ensure safety for themselves and their patients, and be in compliance with Medical Center, State, Federal safety standards. Examples of such steps may include: performing proper safety procedures and precautions, reporting safety concerns and incidents, using proper lifting techniques The associate must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span with additional training and education focused on the assessment treatment of care of infant, pediatric adolescent, geriatric patients. Oversees the quality control checks as it relates to all aspects of Patient Transport, ensuring quality work. The associate will demonstrate budget responsibilities through monitoring, assisting in development, and maintaining budget needs for the dept. This includes daily management of FTE for UOS, management of supply purchases through use of budgeting tools to ensure alignment with monthly budget. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education, Credentials, Licenses: High School Graduate Specialized Knowledge: Excellent communication/negotiation skills Ability of work independently, interdependently and set priorities Demonstrates the ability to initiate, accept and adapt to change Computer entry skills Kind and Length of Experience: Patient transport experience 2 years and 1-2 years of personnel management or 3 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor Desired Software implementation experience Past experience managing employees College Courses/Employee Relations Courses If, for any reason, you are having difficulties applying, please contact our recruitment team at recruiting@stelizabeth.com
