Job Description
SUMMARY
Support manufacturing operations and related departments to ensure and continuously improve quality, efficiency and scrap reduction through process control, continuous improvement, analytical problem solving and new product introduction. Primary responsibility is creation of manufacturing instructions, fixtures, jigs and special tooling. Work directly with production to resolve problems and opportunities for improvement. Participate with cross-functional teams in projects such as new product introduction, new process development and CAPA.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Understand and process the R&D Control Router (RDCR) in accordance with the development procedure.
• Verify and validate the assembly instructions of the assembly drawing and connector assembly instructions.
• Institute process improvements.
• Review set-up sheets and routers for accuracy.
• Assist design engineers with expediting prototypes.
• Work closely with the manufacturing supervisor to ensure designs can be produced in production.
• Work with design engineers to evaluate cost & product improvement ideas, alternate manufacturing techniques, automation, and material selection.
• Support production in trouble shooting connector or cable issues.
• Assist test technicians in troubleshooting and/or qualifying connector designs
• Understand and run verification tests called out in MIL-STD-348 & MIL-PRF-39012 and on the RDCR.
• Working knowledge - ISO 9000; ANSI; & Military standards, stack-up tolerance, tool design, and solder techniques/strength
• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Uses appropriate problem solving tools.
• Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and on budget
• Prioritizes and plans own work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources if needed
• Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
• Generate reports as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic.  These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs.  In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses in specific areas
Hearing protection, in specific locations
Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
