Assistant Wrestling Coach at Hidden Valley High School:
Hidden Valley High School is a VHSL Class 3 School, and member of the River Ridge District in Region 3D. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
The Assistant Wrestling Coach will help coordinate all aspects of the HVHS Wrestling program, including student-athlete development and academic progress, game-day operations, organizing and leading practices, workouts, and budget management.

Will work with the Principal, Head Coach and Athletic Director (AD) in planning, scheduling, and conducting of activities associated with the wrestling program. Oversees 30+ student-athletes.
Qualifications and Job Responsibilities
• Proven integrity and leadership and ability to develop a vision and mission for the program and the ability to communicate those to others.
• Plan and conduct safe and effective practices and teach the fundamentals of wrestling.
• Responsible to ensure that the HVHS wrestling team meets all requirements of the VHSL, including Weight Control Management and TrackWrestling data entry requirements.
• Responsible for the safety of athletes during practices, tournaments, and travel to away events.
• Planning and delivery of pre-season Parent's Meeting and post-season Team Award recognition events.
• Manage team equipment (uniforms, head gear, lockers, mats, etc.) and plan for future needs.
• Work with the AD/Head Coach to develop the team's competition schedule.
• Work with the AD/Head Coach to plan and deliver the Titan Toughman Tournament.
• Manage the team budget and plan & coordinate fundraising (as required).
• Help maintain the Team Roster and validate the team's Master Eligibility List.
• Provide regular communications to parents/guardians regarding practice schedule and competitions.
• Provide clear expectations of conduct and communicate team rules to wrestlers and parents.
• Motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Experience as a high school or collegiate wrestler and/or travel wrestling coach or referee.
• High ideals, good habits, and attitudes in behavior and able to demand the same of students.
• Support all teams and direct the wrestling program in harmony with the athletic department.
• Work with Hidden Valley Middle School and Roanoke County Parks and Recreation to grow interest in the sport and recruit for their program.
