As the Plant Engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will provide technical support for post molding operations and special projects in the Silgan Closures Athens, GA manufacturing facility. Apply today!

What you'll do:
• Hands on problem-solving, repairing, and continuous improvement of the overall post molding operations
• Establishing optimum post molding processes and process controls through machine and process capability studies
• Assuming ownership and accountability for role in resolving customer concerns, improving productivity and reducing scrap
• Generating standard operating procedures
• Partnership with technicians and operators while providing training, guidance and hands on assistance for sustaining stable processes
• Initiate and carry out cost savings and lean manufacturing (PPS & Lean Six Sigma) initiatives
• Assist in equipment specification, selection, installation and debugging
• Participates in continuous improvement activities
• Identify and manage all capital projects

What you'll need to have:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree with heavy concentration in automated equipment / systems
• At least two years hands on experience in secondary production machinery in high-speed (automation) electro / mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
• In-depth hands-on experience with sensors, vision systems, PLCs and automated systems
• Computer proficiency (CAD, MS office, etc.)
• Experience working with automation
