Full job description
Responsibilities:
- Enforce River Ridge safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
- Greet guests and act as an ambassador for River Ridge, following all hospitality standards. Explain safety guidelines and answer questions.
- Assist new/inexperienced shooters on range. Provide comfort and competence to any new shooter.
- Maintain range cleanliness standards at all times.
- Conduct customer firearms checks and brief members/guests on range rules, range commands and range etiquette.
- Observe guests on various shooting ranges on the property, ensure safety guidelines are followed. Be available to assist and provide instruction. Assist with stoppages, misfires and other malfunctions.
- Follow all firearm and general safety guidelines to set a positive example for guests and staff.
- Conduct regular range inspections to ensure proper function, identify potential hazards
- Check out and return River Ridge RSO equipment as needed.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations for prevention.
- Maintain safety records and documentation in accordance with River Ridge standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Range Safety Officer. If you do not have this qualification, we are able to provide the training and must be completed prior to employment. We will provide this training free of charge if successful probationary period of 90 days is achieved.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Basic knowledge and principles of firearms (pistols, rifles, and shotguns) and the shooting industry.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify potential hazards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle conflict situations calmly and effectively.
- Showcase a natural friendly and positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Experience in events management, food service, or hospitality industries is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, push, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, grasp and walk.
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for an extended period of time.
