Job Description
Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
Skills:
1. read blueprints
2. move or lift heavy objects
3. plan or organize work
4. read technical drawings
5. understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
6. examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
7. understand machine setup instructions
8. maintain or repair industrial or related equipment/machinery
9. adjust production equipment/machinery setup
10. clean equipment or machinery
11. install equipment or attachments on machinery or related structures
12. monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems
13. set up production equipment or machinery
14. fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
15. operate metal or plastic fabricating equipment/machinery
16. recognize characteristics of metals
17. use precision measuring tools or equipment
18. load or unload material or workpiece into machinery
19. measure, weigh, or count products or materials
20. operate hoist, winch, or hydraulic boom
21. perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting
22. read production layouts
23. read specifications
24. read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
25. set up computer numerical control machines
