What You’ll Do: Medication Buddy: You’ll be the go-to person for making sure our residents get their medications as prescribed. It’s like being a helpful friend! Document Manager: Maintain and organize medication carts, ensuring that medications are securely stored. Monitor medication supply levels and request refills as needed. Keep records of medication inventory and report any discrepancies. Communication Champ: Effectively communicate with our residents, their families, and our team. Let everyone know about any changes in meds or if there are any complications. Build Relationships: You have the opportunity to form meaningful connections with residents. Many seniors appreciate the companionship and trust they can develop with Medication Technicians like you. What You Bring: State Licenses/Certifications: Obtaining and maintain any required state licensure or certification to be a Medication Technician in an assisted living facility. Knowledge of Medications: Understanding of different types of medications dosage forms, and administration routes. Knowledge of medication management, including safe administration practices and potential side effects. Training and Continues Education: Willingness to participate in ongoing training related to medication management and senior care to stay up-to-date with best practices and regulations. Working Conditions: As a medication Technician at Dominion Senior Living, the position involved providing medication assistance, emotion support, and care to residents in a compassionate and often physically demanding environment. Physical Demands: The physical requirements for a Medication Technician includes the ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods during shifts. Also, lift, push, or pull moderate to heavy objects, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers. Bend, stoop, and kneel as necessary to provide care and administer medications. Use fine motor skills and dexterity to handle medications and medical equipment. Perform tasks that may require physical stamina, especially when assisting residents with activities of daily living. Maintain overall physical wellness to meet the demands of the job and respond to emergencies promptly. PRN Team Members PRN Team Members work a limited number of hours and are scheduled on an “as needed” basis during peak workload times and when staffing and/or scheduling issues warrant PRN Team Members are not eligible for company-provided benefits or paid holidays. PRN Team Members Shift Refusals  Not responding to five attempts to pick up a PRN shift will be deemed as an unwillingness to work and will be treated as a voluntary resignation without notice, unless there is sufficient evidence of an emergency that prevented communication.
