We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for an HVAC Electrician to join a leading Company located in the Greenville, SC surrounding area.
The HVAC Tech III/Electrician-Engineer candidate will be able to complete required PM's and perform repairs on the client's facility equipment as directed by site leadership. Within the preventive and reactive work orders, candidate will be able to install, trouble shoot, and repair facility HVAC systems, and repair facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices and devices. Advanced skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems is a priority. Qualified candidates should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice and data systems. Position provides quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and standard practices. The candidate will regularly lead projects of criticality to campus and beyond with high consequences of success or failure. The employee has impact and influence on campus policy and program development. Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe and clean work area
• Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures
• Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc
• Design and/or evaluate HVAC Systems. HVAC design engineers create heating and cooling systems and their controls
• Troubleshoot and repair facilities' HVAC controls and automation components
• Calculate Heating and Cooling Needs
• Interpret and Draft Plans, based on calculated ventilation requirements
• Replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control button
• Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly
• installed machines and building equipment
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged parts, broken wires, cables and connection
• Knowledge and responsibility to maintain the following electrical distribution equipment: 3 phase 4 wire 277/480 VAC, 3 Phase 4 wire 120/208 VAC, and single phase 3 wire 120/240 VAC
• Performs preventative maintenance tasking, on 480 volt or less, on all electrical duties and equipment
• Maintenance of building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120-volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting, and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system
Basic Hiring Criteria:
• 5-10 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and memos
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one–on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
