General Description Need a little extra spending money?  Looking to work in a fun and healthy environment?  We are looking to fill a seasonal Recreation Coordinator position that will work on Rec on the Go & at special events.
This position will help plan and coordinate weekly Rec on the Go schedule and special events throughout the summer and will drive the Rec on the Go trailer to events.  Hours will vary.  It will be mainly weekdays, but some evenings and weekends will be assigned.  It will be 18 - 30 hours per week and will start in June through the middle of August.

Essential Functions of the Job / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Plan, conduct and evaluate and market enrichment, leisure and athletic programs including assisting with budgets, staffing and equipment projections.
• Plan, coordinate and instruct programs and classes.
• Plan and complete necessary work to conduct special events programs in the parks and recreational facilities.
• Perform customer service activities.
• Schedule and supervise other part-time staff for programs, special events or facilities as assigned.
• Open facility for operations and close them at end of shift.
• Provide basic reports and incident descriptions.
• Set up equipment for special events.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Adhere to all safety practices and procedures and attend all training as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
• Ability to perform first aid, CPR and use AED or to become certified within three months of employment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• Ability to communicate both in oral and written form.
• Ability to interact with the general public.
• General computer and office skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew in an efficient and cooperative manner.
• Condition of assignment as Coordinator I or II will be determined by the Program Supervisor or Assistant Director.
Education and Experience Position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED; completion of two years of academic coursework in a post-secondary institution preferred.  Position requires two years experience in such areas as:  planning and directing recreation or leisure activity programs (e.g. programming for persons with special needs, athletics, or pool operations); Red Cross certified lifeguarding; office or facility management; or experience as a group fitness instructor preferred.  Must be 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing and occasionally requires walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work requires close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception, color perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
