Our manufacturing team in Roanoke is seeking a Production Worker to join our cohort. This position will provide the ideal candidate to apply their knowledge, showcase their mechanical aptitude, learn new skills while working in a safe environment. FULL-TIME Shift: Mondays-Fridays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturdays- TBD based on production schedule
Principal Duties/ Major Responsibilities:
¨     Candidate will be provided training on the company’s specific machinery and will operate the machinery per guidelines and instructions.
¨     Operates and monitors continuous production line
¨     Rotates among duties including the filler machine, wrapper machine, packing boxes, stacking boxes, etc.
¨     Visually inspects product for quality and quantity
¨     Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager in a timely manner
¨     Understands and complies with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations
¨     Maintains a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety policy and procedures
¨     Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
¨     Ensures security of company assets
¨     Report preparation (document times, materials, usage, etc.)
¨     Collecting samples, working effectively with other departments (i.e., QC, distribution, etc.)
¨     Practice safe and proper handling of raw materials
¨     Follow GMP and HACCP standards
¨     Cooperate with the team to fulfill the production schedule efficiently.
¨     Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
¨     Perform cleanup of the filling machine before, during and after production
¨     Basic machine maintenance when required
¨     Perform daily start-up procedure and staging of materials.
¨     You may relieve associates for breaks/lunches as well assist in production or packaging areas during periods of high production needs.
Requirements/Qualifications:
¨     Reliable transportation
¨     Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly
¨     Demonstrated ability to work in teams
¨     Reliable, predictable attendance is required
¨     Employee must have the ability to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time.
¨     Must have a practical working knowledge of basic arithmetic functions (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction).
¨     Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
¨     HACCP certification and/or ServSafe Training a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Candidates must be accustomed to working in a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This position is subject to noise from machinery. It will require varying degrees of personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, earplugs, gloves, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses or goggles.
