General Summary
Serves as the Manager of the Information Systems and Technology department, in the Credit Union administrative setting. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principals of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union and adhering to the vision of “Empowering People to Enhance Lives”. The Manager of the Information Systems and Technology department will assist, oversee, plan, and manage the IT/IS department and IT infrastructure of the credit union. They will assist in the development of short‐and long‐term technology plans to provide efficient and cost‐effective technology tools for SouthPoint, its affiliate companies and related sub brands. Friendly, professional, and personal service toward all SouthPoint Financial Credit Union members and staff is required.
Essential Functions
• Assumes responsibility for effectively managing and maintaining the technical support of the Credit Union’s computer systems to ensure that in‐house and remote systems, hardware, software, networking, installations, and operations support the credit union’s goals and objectives.
• Responsible for achieving department service levels and assisting in resolution of outstanding tickets. Maintain or improve results of IT Exams, audits, and disaster recovery testing.
• Oversee the development of staff including mentoring and coaching, performance management, including discipline and counseling, and encouraging staff individual development.
• Manage highly motivated, well-trained staff and provide leadership and direction to meet organizational and department strategic goals and objectives.
• Responsible for providing timely reports related to security, service levels, and overall operations of the technologies used in the organization.
• Monitors and manages all IT related projects to ensure completion within set timelines and budgets.
• Work in tandem with the Director of Operations and COO in setting short‐term and long‐term technology plans that promote credit union growth and enhance services to internal and external members.
• Assist in the research, design and implementation of new systems, applications, networks, or other technology tools that support credit union growth, enhance services to members, and provide efficient processes for employees.
• Assist in the development, updating, testing and ongoing compliance with the disaster recovery plans, computer security and loss prevention plans, antivirus, and firewall protections, etc.
• Assist in the negotiation of cost‐effective contracts for the purchase of new systems, hardware, software, or peripherals, as well as contracts for service warranties, maintenance programs, or IT consultants to support the credit union’s technology infrastructure.
• Provide recommendations as to when it is cost‐effective to outsource technology services. Research industry experts in outsourced computer and core processing services and negotiate cost‐effective contracts with appropriate vendors.
• Assist/ensure that operational manuals and documentation are accurate and up to date. Ensure that processes comply with State and Federal rules and regulations.
• Assist in budget preparation for the department that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
• Research industry trends in technology to ensure the credit union remains competitive in its product and service offerings. Keep abreast of changing trends in technology to include hardware, networks and network tools, software, and systems.
• Assist/develop, apply, and evaluate policies and procedures for the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• Requires at least four years progressive experience in a financial institution technology related position, including knowledge of current regulations around technology and cyber security, or 2- year degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of one to two years of experience in management or supervisory capacity preferred.
• Requires attainment of a thorough knowledge of Credit Union systems, policies, and operating processes.
• Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
• High level of Automated Systems skills required.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged sitting throughout the workday performing the job.
• Working at a computer 95% of the day.
• Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
• Occasional lifting (Up to twenty lbs).
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
